Everybody is doing it

Today is a good day to start a blog, I thought to myself this morning (with the tedium of winter days and nights looming ever closer). Little did I know that it is so simple and quick to achieve, that I would actually be held to my aim of posting my first ramblings this very day.

Mostly, I will be blogging about how I alternately love and hate the human race. Reasons for this unsettling lack of stability in opinion and world view will be discussed at length, and shall include (but are by no means limited to) the following: the nefarious activities of politicians and the corporate world, versus the indomitable spirit of civil society activists, campaigners, and community groups worldwide; the soul destroying sexism, racism, elitism, disablism of the mainstream British media, versus the growing number of  radical and inspiring voices making themselves heard through numerous new forms of media; the seeming stupidity and indifference of the British public, versus the undeniable existence of millions of incredible human beans, including all the amazing people I know (and love...). Ick.

More to follow, assuming I do not, in the next week or so, reconcile the misanthrope and philanthrope within me.
